ACC Gameday Experience: Boston College

Editor's note: As we count down to the start of the college football season, FOX Sports Carolinas ranks the game-day experience around the Atlantic Coast Conference. We will unveil the top choice on Tuesday, Aug. 21. (item rankings are based on a scale of 1 through 10):

9 – Alumni stadium, Boston College (44,500)

Beauty (4):
It depends on how you approach the stadium. The side connected to the basketball/hockey area is not appealing, but the other side isn't bad. Better in the fall than in September.

Tailgating (3): The school recently cut in half prices to rent tailgating spaces, which says a lot more than we ever could in this space.

Buzz (3): Night home games against Notre Dame are great, otherwise most games lack a passionate atmosphere. Noon games can be snoozers.

Fans (3): They just aren't showing up like they used to. BC struggles to fill the stadium for most games, and passion is lacking as well.

History (3): Some big games have been played in this building, but it doesn't measure up to the hockey played inside Conte Forum, which is connected to the home side of the stadium.

Remark: BC needs to win to improve the entire experience, but even then, maybe until the ACC adds more northern flavor the fans will seem apathetic towards football and basketball.
