A snowmobiler's horrifying GoPro video shows how he survived an avalanche

Snowmobiler Doug Lakeman captured the horrifying moment he was caught in an avalanche while riding his Ski-Doo in British Columbia.
With absolutely no warning (at around the 1:20 mark in the video), the snow begins to fracture underneath Lakeman and he slides an estimated 2,500 feet down the slope. Lakeman fortunately survived, and he was extremely lucky. Deadly avalanches have claimed the lives of 12 snowmobilers in British Columbia since December, according to CBC.
