A little off base: That Garrett guy can play

A little off base: That Garrett guy can play

I don't know about all of you, but I'm bored as hell.

Without any games going on for three days, All-Star Game notwithstanding, I'm struggling for things to talk about. Everyone wants to give out their midseason awards, and that's fine I guess. I've done that too.

So, while the rest of the fantasy world takes care of that, let's talk about the hottest of the hot and the coldest of the cold going into the season's most important half.

Player of the Week

Can you really do much better than a no-hitter!?! I submit that you cannot. And since San Fran's Jonathan Sanchez did that very thing against the Padres last week, I'd say you have to give this one to him this week. Somewhat of a no-brainer, yes, but it's extremely rare for me to throw a pitcher into this category most weeks, since they have only one game to the position players' six or seven. That's a natural reaction, right?! But no-hitters trump all that, especially when you're just one bobbled ball away from a perfect game, to go with no walks and an impressive 11 strikeouts ... all with your dad in the stands! Top notch, Jonathan. Top notch indeed.
