One: A slow start against a hungry, desperate team usually is a recipe for disaster. It wasn't so much a disaster as it was a few too many passengers. The ship was on auto-pilot to start the game, which is not a good way to play as the Blue Jackets had to chase the Stars.
Two: Sloppy play in the first period was not expected. Indeed, did Columbus forget what it's like to play in the Western Conference? They got away from their identity and it cost them two goals to the Stars in the first.
Three: I'm sure this will be heard from time to time throughout the season, but tonight they did not play a complete game. A full 60 minutes of hockey is a must if they want to have a good chance every night. Complacency cannot be tolerated.
