RyanFowlerFOX:
Off the top I wanted to mention one HUGE lesson I've learned from our first two fantasy football mock drafts ... running backs are at a premium and the shift away from drafting QBs in the first round has begun ... so keep that in mind with everything you learn today ...

[Comment From GuestGuest: ]
Im in a keeper league and I have Adrian Peterson. Everyone else will probably have a rb as their keeper (except for calvin or rodgers), so should I go for another rb with my 1st pick

Tuesday July 23, 2013 2:03 Guest

2:04

RyanFowlerFOX:
The short answer on that question is yes ... but I don't think we want to be reaching on heavy RBBC options and/or rookies just because we feel pressured to take a RB2 in the first round of a keeper ... it truly depends which RBs are remaining ... but I believe a guy like Ridley, Steven Jackson, Murrray IF on the board are viable options in the first round of a keeper league

Who do you have more faith in? DeMarco Murray or Darren McFadden?

2:06

RyanFowlerFOX:
You can hear all about my take on McFadden here ... http://msn.foxsports.com/fantasy/football/story/afc-west-fantasy-football-storylines-071013 ... although Murray comes in with some red flags ... with the running back options on the board, I think Murray is a decent bet ...

Tuesday July 23, 2013 2:06 RyanFowlerFOX

2:06

RyanFowlerFOX:
so that answer is Murray

Would you rather have Julio Jones or Roddy White?

Tuesday July 23, 2013 2:06 Fred

2:07

RyanFowlerFOX:
Great question that I believe will pop up more and more throughout fantasy football draft season ... I currently have Roddy White ranked ahead of JJ ... however, in a recent discussion with Falcons' beat writer Daryl Ledbetter ... he picked JJ to surprass Roddy in 2013 ... he added that you can't really go wrong with either ... but definitely liked JJ's big play ability over the middle and that defenses continue to swarm roddy ... my opinion may change over time ... but I like Roddy

I'm a Bengals fan. aside from AJ Green, are any Bengals worth taking in my standard league's top 5 rounds?

Tuesday July 23, 2013 2:08 CincyBob

2:09

RyanFowlerFOX:
RE: running back options ... after the fifth round, there aren't going to be many ... so I believe The Law Firm needs to be in the conversation before the end of the 4th ... also, Giovani Bernard is going to gain a lot of attention the deeper into August we go IMO ... so those two are definitely in the discussion

[Comment From Kentucky BillKentucky Bill: ]
Are there any players I should avoid due to potential suspensions looming (like a mlb Ryan Braun situation)?

Tuesday July 23, 2013 2:09 Kentucky Bill

2:10

RyanFowlerFOX:
Well let's recap what we DO know ... obviously Josh Gordon out 2 games ... Justin Blackmon out 4 games ... Von Miller probably facing suspension ... Mike Goodson may miss time (although the Jets beat writer told me yesterday that case may get pushed back far enough not to interfere with his season) ...

[Comment From GuestGuest: ]
What do you make of the Colts backfield with the addition of Bradshaw? Will Ballard still be a viable fantasy option if available 4-6 rounds? Or hold off until later?

Tuesday July 23, 2013 2:12 Guest

2:13

RyanFowlerFOX:
Bradshaw's major hurdle is his own health ... that backfield IS RBBC ... ballard could vulture (much like Jacobs did in NY) ... I think Ballard is a RB4 at the moment ... that offense is going to pass a lot

Lamar Miller,Le'veon,Lacy, or Ball?

Tuesday July 23, 2013 2:13 Zach

2:14

RyanFowlerFOX:
Let's see three rookies and a second-year guy with little playing time in 2012 ... I'd rank 'em like this Miller, Bell, Ball, Lacy ... Packers have to prove to me that running the ball with a rookie back is in the plans ... training camp may help clear that picture up ... that's a big MAY

[Comment From PeaTear G.PeaTear G.: ]
Can we expect the same amount of production from Brady, or is he likely going to fall with the (lack of) production that is around him?

Tuesday July 23, 2013 2:14 PeaTear G.

2:15

RyanFowlerFOX:
Much like Peyton Manning, Brady has made chicken soup out of chicken droppings before ... but this degree of difficulty is much larger ... Gronk / Ballard start training camp on PUP list (they can come off at anytime) ... so that leaves Daniel Fells and Danny Amendola as top two passing targets ... they need a WR2 off the waiver wire before I feel comfortable moving Brady back into the top five discussion

Who will be the main targets in Pittsburgh now that Mike Wallace is gone?

Tuesday July 23, 2013 2:15 Insert Jake-pun Here

2:16

RyanFowlerFOX:
Well Antonio Brown is a solid fantasy option, but I don't know if he can be a DOMINANT WR1 ... Emmanuel Sanders is in the mix and could do some stuff in PPR league (Brown PPR value high, too) ... Heath Miller's health is still a question mark ... doubt he starts the season ...

[Comment From SteeleSteele: ]
MJD was just cleared to practice with Jags. Where do you have him ranked and do you have any concerns with him?

Tuesday July 23, 2013 2:17 Steele

2:18

RyanFowlerFOX:
MJD was undervalued in our first mock draft ... but John Halpin took him with the 12th pick in the second mock, which I think is a fair assessment of his value right now ... contract year for MJD ... has an "improved" offensive line from the guys that cover the team ... he and Cecil Shorts III are the only bright spots and MJD could carry the ball 250-300 times this year

Any sleepers at tight end?

Tuesday July 23, 2013 2:19 Zach

2:21

RyanFowlerFOX:
Fantasy tight ends are a deep position ... sleepers can be defined in many different ways ... but let's say Graham, Witten, Tony G and Gronk are your top four .... way down the line I like Brandon Myers in NYG, Keller in Miami, Jake Ballard in NE if his health is up to snuff ... these would be late-draft picks

RyanFowlerFOX:
Still early ... Here are some of my thoughts on the Rams' fantasy situation heading into camp - http://msn.foxsports.com/fantasy/football/story/nfc-west-fantasy-football-storylines-in-2013-071913 ... but I think Richardson wins the starting gig and it'll be a RBBC

[Comment From NateNate: ]
I have been autodrafted danny amendola and anquan boldin. What do you think about those two as my wr3 and wr4?

Tuesday July 23, 2013 2:24 Nate

2:25

RyanFowlerFOX:
Scale of 1 to 10 with 1 being "that sucks" and 10 being "lucky!!!" ... I'd rank those two picks as a 6.5-7.5 as WR3 and WR4... depends if PPR, too ... if PPR higher

Tuesday July 23, 2013 2:25 RyanFowlerFOX

2:26

[Comment From Working HardWorking Hard: ]
10-Team Standard League: If I hold 10th pick and the top running backs are off the board, does it make any sense to draft two top WRs (C. Johnson/D. Bryant or C. Johnson/B. Marshall)? Then taking RBs with picks 30/31?

Tuesday July 23, 2013 2:26 Working Hard

2:28

RyanFowlerFOX:
I really think you need to try and get at least one running back ... although 10-team leagues are shallow and more options may present itself at 30/31 ... I don't like the risk ... I'm okay with WR/RB or RB/Graham in that spot ... but RB/RB is going to be my M.O. in most instances

Tuesday July 23, 2013 2:28 RyanFowlerFOX

2:28

[Comment From ZachZach: ]
I had forte and bush on my team last year (forte starting and bush on my bench). Bush took some goalline oppurtunities away from forte, same story this year?

Tuesday July 23, 2013 2:28 Zach

2:29

RyanFowlerFOX:
Actually with Marc Trestman at the helm now, Cutler's fantasy value is receiving a little early-season sizzle ... with him working in space and now having a reliable tight end that can catch ... I think Bush is a nice RB4 / Forte insurance, but that's it at this time

Tuesday July 23, 2013 2:29 RyanFowlerFOX

2:29

[Comment From #VoteForPedro#VoteForPedro: ]
How do you see the Steeler RB situation shaking out on the depth charts this year? With Wallace gone, I could see them trying to run more.

Tuesday July 23, 2013 2:29 #VoteForPedro

2:31

RyanFowlerFOX:
I agree - earlier an owner asked about Big Ben's options in the passing game with Wallace gone and that could equate to a more heavy-centric run offense with Le'Veon Bell having a great opportunity to win the starting gig over Redman and Dwyer ... but there are definitely red flags of a RBBC forming in PIT - training camp reps will be key to monitor

[Comment From QB Question.QB Question.: ]
In a ppr league I have two week 9 bye qbs, Stafford and Eli Manning. Should I keep them because both can be better than predicted, or try to trade?

Tuesday July 23, 2013 2:31 QB Question.

2:32

RyanFowlerFOX:
I feel bad that you already drafted ... (more ..)

Tuesday July 23, 2013 2:32 RyanFowlerFOX

2:32

RyanFowlerFOX:
I think you hold now ... no need to trade this early ... hope for Eli's fantasy value to increase ... Stafford is moving up my draft board as a fantasy QB in 2013 ...

Tuesday July 23, 2013 2:32 RyanFowlerFOX

2:32

[Comment From ZachZach: ]
Is it better to draft 5th or 6th or 1st and 10th (to have back to back picks)? Reasons?

Tuesday July 23, 2013 2:32 Zach

2:34

RyanFowlerFOX:
I'm really digging the 10th spot right now ... load up on those RBs ... wait on QB until 7/8 round ... very few owners in 12-team leagues are going to have 3 viable running backs RB 1 / RB 2 / FLEX until, perhaps, a rookie emerges from later rounds ... but I think the 10 spot is solid

PPR League...what are your predictions for Josh Gordon?

Tuesday July 23, 2013 2:34 Suspended....

2:35

RyanFowlerFOX:
Well as Zac Jackson from FS Ohio pointed out during a recent podcast on the FOX Sports Team Report - http://msn.foxsports.com/fantasy/football/story/team-podcasts-fantasy-football-nfl-previews-advice-analysis - Gordon is one bone-headed decision away from a year suspension ... that's not good ... and players always say the right things, but there is one red flag to think about ... aside from that, from a strictly fantasy perspective ... Depends on how many in league ... that's a tricky one ... I don't think I wait as long ... the run on QBs could shut you out and that 20-25 (for the earlier QBs taken) fantasy points per week is crucial

RyanFowlerFOX:
I think the Colts' offense is in better shape now than it was a year ago ... Luck is still going to struggle in the interception department ... but I'm okay with him going in the 5th / 6th rounds of fantasy drafts

Tuesday July 23, 2013 2:47 RyanFowlerFOX

2:48

RyanFowlerFOX:
that was another trend that we picked up on in our second mock drafts ... the young QBs that broke through last season fell to the 5 6 rounds this time around instead of 3/4 rounds
