Arizona Wildcat football coach Rich Rodriguez talks with Matt this week about last week's signing day and the new NCAA recruiting rules. Plus, he discusses the evolution of the spread offense, talks about the decision to replace natural grass at Arizona Stadium with FieldTurf and reflects on the last year.

Among his observations:

His feeling as his team enters spring practice: "We know where we are at right now. We know where the problems are, now we just have to attack those problems and continue to work on our strengths as well."

On the new NCAA recruiting rules: "I think the intent behind some of the new legislation is in the right place, but the practicality of it I don't think is really good for the game."

On why Arizona is replacing natural grass with FieldTurf next season: "The biggest advantage of that is that our guys will be able to use it year round. We'll be able to practice on it during the week, our guys will be able to use it in the offseason, and I think aesthetically it's going to look really good year-round as well."
