Inglewood advanced to the CIF Southern Section Division I-AA semifinals last season and it was a sophomore point guard that helped the Sentinels get there. That sophomore, Terrell Gomez, is back and as a junior is once again a focal point of the Inglewood offense.
The 5-foot-8 point guard, who began playing the game at the age of three, is savvy off of pick and rolls and if defenders dare go under screens, he's lethal with the jumper. In the process, he's continuing to give Bay League opposition fits.
Gomez is the No. 4 point guard in the state, according to Scout.com. In the meantime, here's 10 things you may know about him:
Nickname
To family and teammates, Gomez is known as "T-Go."
Hobbies
Gomez loves to eat. However, usually there are some parameters. He tries not to binge on bad stuff.
"I try to eat the right way," he said.
Favorite meal
A T-bone steak is never a bad idea for Gomez.
"I like it grilled," Gomez said. "It doesn't matter. I could eat steak (with anything)."
Favorite team
Last season Gomez was a fan of the Miami Heat. In the offseason his allegiance changed to the Cleveland Cavaliers.
"I'm really a fan of wherever (Cleveland Cavaliers forward) LeBron (James) goes," Gomez admitted.

Some of the Inglewood point guard's favorite artists include Chief Keef, Fabolous, and Yo Gotti. If it's before a game, however, it's Chief Keef who gets him pumped up.
"That's a must," he said.

Gomez says as a product of South Central Los Angeles, he would select any basketball player growing up in his community that's about doing the right thing.
"I'm surrounded by a lot of bad stuff," he said.
Best sports memory
For this, Gomez goes back to a matchup with Dana Hills in the 2014 CIF Southern Section playoffs. Gomez was just a sophomore but torched the Dolphins for 25 points and five assists in a 62-51 first round win for the Sentinels.
"I had a really good, breakout game," Gomez recalls.
No. 3
Gomez wears No. 3 in honor of Detroit Pistons guard Brandon Jennings. Growing up Gomez was a huge fan of Jennings, who played locally at Dominguez High School before transferring to Oak Hill, and has stuck with the number.
