South Africa has earned a spot in the London Olympics men's beach volleyball lineup, becoming the first to qualify through winning a Continental Cup competition.

The International Volleyball Federation says South Africa beat Angola, in a ''golden set'' decider, in the African finals played Sunday at Flic en Flac, Mauritius.

South Africa is assured of having one two-man team in the 24-team Olympic tournament. Countries can earn a maximum of two entries.

FIVB rules allow South Africa to select from its best six eligible pairings in world rankings published in June.
