Olympic hockey: US men beat Norway 6-1

The U.S. men's hockey team has won its second straight game, a solid 6-1 win over overmatched Norway.

Phil Kessel, Chris Drury scored first-period goals Thursday, Patrick Kane added one in the second and Brian Rafalski found the net twice in the closing minutes.

The result gave the Americans the blowout win they were looking for. They will clinch Group A with a victory over Canada on Sunday.

U.S. goaltender Ryan Miller needed to make only 10 saves to earn his second win. Ryan Malone also scored in the third period for the Americans, who had 39 shots on goal.

Norway got a short-handed goal from Marius Holtet in the second period, and has been outscored 14-1 in these Olympics.
