KRASNAYA POLYANA, Russia (AP) The men's downhill at the Sochi Olympics has started after a 15-minute delay due to a gondola problem.

The race began at 11:15 a.m. local time (0715 GMT) with Steven Nyman of the United States the first racer on the course.

After reaching the start, Travis Ganong, another American, said he got temporarily stuck on the gondola on the way up.
