Injuries have kept Lindsey Vonn from competing at this year's Sochi Olympic Games, but the heavily decorated US alpine skier has already set her sights toward Pyeongchang, South Korea -- the site of the 2018 Winter Games.
"I've actually committed myself to racing through to the next Olympics," Vonn told Matt Lauer on Today.
The 29-year-old skier, who just underwent a second surgery to repair the knee that kept her from the Sochi games, says she's planning to start skiing again in October to prepare for the World Championships in Vail, Colorado, next year.
"I felt a little bit rushed last time, trying to be ready for Sochi," Vonn revealed. "(But) I'm very motivated. I feel I have a lot to accomplish still."
Vonn was recently named an Olympic correspondent for Today and NBC Sports, but admitted her difficulty in watching certain disciplines.
"It's going to be really really hard to watch the alpine events," she said.
Vonn, seated on a couch with her leg propped up, dog Leo on her lap, also isn't keen on the crack of dawn correspondent call time.
"I'll tell you what I'm not looking forward to, is waking up this early," she said. "That's not going to be fun."
