Griner leads US to 77-48 win over Famila Schio

Baylor star Brittney Griner scored 15 points to lead a balanced offense for the United States in a 77-48 victor over Italian league champion Famila Schio on Friday.

The Seattle Storm's Swin Cash and the Connecticut Sun's tina Charles and Renee Montgomery had 12 points apiece, and the New York Liberty's Cappie Pondexter added 11 as the U.S. national team opened a five-game exhibition schedule.

Cash also had nine rebounds, Charles grabbed eight and Griner and the San Antonio Silver Stars' Sophia Young had seven each.

Raffaella Masciadri, who spent three seasons with the Los Angeles Sparks, led Famila Schio with 14 points and Liron Cohen added 10. Former Liberty star Janel McCarville, who sat out this past WNBA season, scored two points in 19 minutes.
