Germany's Storl wins shot put title

David Storl of Germany kept his shot put title at the world championships Friday.

Storl's winning throw of 71 feet, 3 inches was first flagged for a foul but later reinstated.

Ryan Whiting of the United States, the season's top performer, took the silver with a toss of 70-9 and Dylan Armstrong of Canada earned the bronze at 70-0.
