John Dupre is stepping down as the Canadian Olympic Committee's chief executive officer and secretary general, citing personal reasons.

The COC said Wednesday that Chris Overholt will replace Dupre. Overholt has been the chief operating officer, overseeing the organization's day-to-day activities.

Dupre became CEO in April 2010. He had spent 15 years as head of Speed Skating Canada.
