Chasing 4th straight win, Pinturault leads GS after 1st run

KRANJSKA GORA, Slovenia (AP) Alexis Pinturault of France led a World Cup giant slalom after the first run in his bid for a fourth straight win in the discipline on Friday.
Pinturault led Philipp Schoerghofer of Austria by 0.34 seconds, with the rest of the field more than a half second off the pace.
Overall World Cup leader Marcel Hirscher of Austria was seventh and had 0.82 to make up in the second run. His closest rival for the overall title, Henrik Kristoffersen of Norway, was 0.80 back in sixth.
Coming into the race, Pinturault was 131 points behind Hirscher in the season's GS standings, with three races remaining.

Organizers lowered the start after the top section of the Podkoren course was affected by overnight snowfall.
