Chasing 3rd straight win, Pinturault leads GS after 1st run

HINTERSTODER, Austria (AP) Alexis Pinturault of France built a big lead in the opening run of a men's World Cup giant slalom on Sunday, positioning himself for a third straight win in the discipline.

Pinturault led Felix Neureuther of Germany by 0.47 seconds, and Henrik Kristoffersen of Norway by 0.55 seconds.

Overall World Cup leader Marcel Hirscher of Austria was another 0.01 further back in fourth.

Pinturault won a GS here on Friday, and also triumphed in Yuzawa Naeba, Japan, two weeks ago.

With four races remaining this season, the Frenchman trails Hirscher by 151 points in the discipline standings.
