Brazil sweeps podium in first women's beach VB Olympic qualifer

Agatha Bednarczuk and Barbara Seixas beat Juliana Felisberta and Maria Antonelli in an all-Brazil final of the $800,000 St. Pete Grand Slam on Sunday, taking the gold medal in the first Olympic qualifier in the U.S. for the Rio Games.

Bednarczuk and Seixas won each of their seven matches in the tournament without dropping a set. The 23-21, 21-19 victory in the final was the second career FIVB tournament victory for each player.

Brazil also got third place when Taiana Lima and Fernanda Alves defeated Germans Karla Borger and Britta Buthe 17-21, 21-19, 17-15 in the bronze-medal match.
