Andreas Puelacher becomes Austria men's head coach
INNSBRUCK, Austria (AP) The Austrian ski federation has appointed Andreas Puelacher as head coach of the men's Alpine team, replacing Mathias Berthold.
Puelacher has already been working with the Austrian team as technical coach under Berthold for the past four seasons. Earlier, Puelacher worked in Switzerland and Liechtenstein.
Federation sports director Hans Pum says ''Puelacher not only brings a lot experience and knowhow, he also has great social skills.''
The federation also announced three-time Olympic medalist Heinz Kuttin as head coach of the ski jumping team, replacing Alexander Pointner, who decided not to extend his contract after leading the team for 10 years.
Also, Reinhard Goesweiner has been named head coach for the men's and women's biathlon teams.
