Americans win junior world dance

SOFIA, Bulgaria (AP) Kaitlin Hawayek and Jean-Luc Baker won the ice dance title at the Junior World Figure Skating Championships on Friday.

Performing to ''Amelie,'' Hawayek/Baker used intricate footwork, difficult lifts and spins to earn a season-best 90.39 points. Overall they had 157.12 points in reaching their objective: ''From the beginning of the season we've said, the junior world gold medal is our goal,'' Hawayek said.

Anna Yanovskaya and Sergey Mozgov of Russia earned the silver medal, and Canada's Madeline Edwards and Zhao Kai Pang took bronze.

Russia swept the women's short program.

Elena Radionova, 15, led Serafima Sakhanovich and Evgenia Medvedeva. Amber Glenn and Karen Chen of the United States were fifth and sixth, respectively.
