Shiffrin: The teenager - at least for a few more weeks - is the defending champ and won the event at the 2014 Sochi Games. Now that Lindsey Vonn is finished for these worlds, Shiffrin slips into the role of hometown favorite. She's from Eagle-Vail.
Kathrin Zettel, Austria: Won bronze at the Sochi Games and silver at worlds in 2011.
Hansdotter: She leads the slalom standings on the World Cup circuit. Won a World Cup slalom race on Jan. 13 in Austria.
DON'T FORGET ABOUT
Tina Maze, Slovenia: She does have three medals - two golds, one silver - so far at these worlds. She captured a World Cup slalom race at Levi, Finland, in November.

Even though I didn't get as many medals as everyone expected me to, I still am happy with my performance.'' Lindsey Vonn after wrapping up her worlds by finishing 14th in the giant slalom Thursday. She left with one medal, a bronze in the super-G.
