Should NASCAR run more truck races on dirt?

The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series is racing at Eldora. It's always this time of year with the truck race being the only series to run a dirt track, where fans ask "Should NASCAR run more truck races on dirt."  My answer is a big ol' NO and let's throw in an absolutely not, while we are at it.

I've said this many times. The one strong fault we have in NASCAR is that when we hit on something that really is good and special, we then have the tendency to over-kill it. We don't need another dirt track on the truck series schedule.

This is the legendary Eldora track. We only go there once a year and it's a really special event. We don't need to dilute that by doing more truck races on dirt.

Eldora is Eldora. It's hard to believe this will be our fourth year of truck racing there. I have a very strong feeling that we'll have our fourth different winner there. I'm just a firm believer of leaving well enough alone when it comes to the truck series on dirt at Eldora.

This is a stand-out special event for our third-tier touring series and it needs to be the only one on the schedule. Now with that said, I am not going to say that we shouldn't look at maybe adding a dirt track to the NASCAR Xfinity Series. You can use the same model as Eldora. You make it the only one of the schedule. You make it fun and exciting for the drivers and the fans.

We've seen it in the past whether it's racing under the lights or moving races to Saturday nights where it has hurt our sport by adding more and more of them. We got greedy and it's diluted it. We simply can't afford to keep doing that.
