Practice results: Carl Edwards leads final practice at New Hampshire Motor Speedway

Joe Gibbs Racing's Carl Edwards secured his first pole of the season on Friday afternoon, and on Saturday the driver of the No. 19 Toyota posted the fastest time in final practice at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.
Edwards posted the fastest lap of 28.614 seconds at 133.110 miles per hour after running a total of 26 laps. Despite putting up the fastest time, Edwards said the track conditions on Saturday were not ideal for Sunday's race, and the team ended the practice early.
Defending Sprint Cup Series champion Kevin Harvick was second fastest after posting a lap of 28.768 seconds at 132.397 mph in his No. 4 Stewart-Haas Racing Chevrolet.
Ryan Blaney and Wood Brothers Racing missed the last two Sprint Cup races after weather canceled qualifying at Daytona International Speedway and Kentucky Speedway. However, Blaney will start Sunday's 5-Hour Energy 301 from the 16th spot. Blaney's No. 21 Ford was third fastest in Saturday's final practice session.
Kentucky winner Kyle Busch was fourth fastest, followed by his fellow JGR driver Denny Hamlin. Clint Bowyer, Brad Keselowski, Kyle Larson, Matt Kenseth and Joey Logano rounded out the top 10.
With about 12 minutes left in the session, rain hit the one-mile track causing NASCAR to throw the red flag and end all on-track action.
