Joe Gibbs Racing shows speed in second Pocono Raceway practice
The Joe Gibbs Racing Toyotas were fast once again as the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series hit Pocono Raceway for the weekend's second practice session on Saturday.
Carl Edwards put his No. 19 Toyota atop the leaderboard early in the session, with fellow JGR teammates Matt Kenseth, Kyle Busch and Denny Hamlin placing second, third and fourth, respectively.
Stewart-Haas Racing's Kurt Busch had the fifth fastest lap of the session. Ryan Newman, Joey Logano, Austin Dillon, Brad Keselowski and Jimmie Johnson rounded out the top 10.
Edwards also had the best 10-consecutive lap average, followed by Hamlin, Kyle Larson, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Paul Menard and Justin Allgaier.
With just under 40 minutes left in the session, Travis Kvapil's car bobbled through the Tunnel Turn and made contact with the outside wall. The incident caused significant damage to the right rear of the No. 32 Ford.
