Supercross to award motorbike to fan who recycles 1,000,000th can
Ryan Dungey is on the verge of winning his third Supercross title this weekend at the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J., but he wouldn’t be the only one leaving Saturday’s event with a nice piece of hardware.
Monster Energy AMA Supercross and MetLife Stadium will be awarding one fan a Monster prize package, which includes a brand new Kawasaki motorcycle, a year’s supply of Monster Energy drink, VIP treatment at the Supercross event and tickets to next year’s Supercross at the MetLife Stadium.
All that fan has to do, is recycle the 1,000,000th can.
For the past nine seasons, the Monster Energy Pit Party Entrance Promotion has allowed Supercross fans with an event ticket to recycle their empty Monster Energy cans for a free pit party entry, allowing them to get up close to the bikes and riders. During those nine years, participation in the promotion has increased 170 percent, with 70 major retailers joining in on the program.
An average of 32,000 lbs. of aluminum has been recycled thanks to the program - equating to about eight cars or three school busses.
The Monster Energy Supercross Pit Party runs from 12-6 p.m. ET at the MetLife Stadium on Saturday ahead of the racing action, which will be shown LIVE at 7 p.m. ET on FS1.
