INDIANAPOLIS (AP) Stefan Wilson, the younger brother of late IndyCar driver Justin Wilson, will attempt to race in his first Indianapolis 500 this year.
Wilson will try to qualify for the 100th running of the Indy 500 in a car prepared by KV Racing Technology. Wilson will drive the No. 25 Driven2SaveLives Chevrolet in a partnership with Indiana Donor Network.
The Indiana Donor Network has a campaign to promote organ, tissue and eye donation and transplantation in honor of Justin Wilson, who was killed last August during an IndyCar race in Pennsylvania. He was struck in the head by a piece of debris from a crash ahead of him.
Justin Wilson was an organ donor and saved six lives through his gesture.
