Reports: Seven-time F1 champ Schumacher injured in skiing accident
Seven-time Formula One champion Michael Schumacher has reportedly been injured in a skiing accident in Meribel, France.
According to multiple reports, the German driver was taken by helicopter to a hospital in Moutiers. Schumacher, 44, reportedly might have suffered a head injury.
A report on BBC.com states that Christophe Gernignon-Lecomte, director of the Meribel resort, told Radio Monte Carlo Sport: "He was shocked, a little shaken but conscious.
"It may be a head injury but it is not very serious."
He added that Schumacher was wearing a helmet and “banged [his head] against a rock."
Schumacher won seven titles and 91 races during his Formula One career. He retired in 2006, then returned in 2010 before stepping away from the sport at the end of the 2012 season.
