"Thank you, crazy car people!"

That's how Jerry Seinfeld greeted everyone at the Gooding and Company auction this weekend on Amelia Island, where the comedian sold 17 cars, including a bunch of his beloved Porsches, for a cool $22 million.

The highest-selling car was a 1955 Porsche 550 Spyder, which sold for $5,335,000. Check out a gallery of the cars at TMZ.

Seinfeld didn't make as much as expected — or in the case of his Porsche 917/30 Can-Am race car, even as much as he paid for it.

However, he said he didn't collect the cars to make money, and his motivation for selling them this way was not financial gain.

"I could've gotten rid of every one of them in one day, with no problem," he said, "but I wanted to be here with you all, who see these things the way I do and enjoy this hobby the way I do."
