Hamilton issued reprimand after reversing on pit road in Bahrain
Lewis Hamilton demolished the lap record on Saturday, taking pole for Sunday’s Bahrain GP.
However, the three-time World Champion almost lost it all two hours after the session ended when he was summoned to the stewards’ office.
Hamilton had infringed on Article 28.3, which states that no F1 car should be reversed under its own power in the pits. Hamilton had done so at the end of Saturday's qualifying session.
However, fortunately for Hamilton he was issued just a reprimand and will still start from the front of the grid on Sunday.
The official F1 website adds that:
After hearing accounts from Hamilton and a Mercedes team representative, officials decided not to impose a penalty "due to the fact that no clear instruction was given to the driver on where he should park the car after qualifying."
