Jacques Villeneuve, the 1997 Formula One world champion, has been replaced by Mike Conway at Venturi Racing.

Three races into the 2015-2016 FIA Formula E season, Villeneuve has yet to score a point. Venturi Racing tweeted on Friday that the team and Villeneuve “are ending their collaboration in a mutual agreement. Disagreement over the future direction of the team.”

Conway, 32, has scored four wins in the Verizon IndyCar Series and five class victories in the FIA World Endurance Championship. He also won a GP2 race at Monaco in 2008.

“Venturi is a top team in Formula E so it’s great to be able to join,” Conway told FIAFormulE.com. “The series is innovative and quite unique. It is quickly growing momentum and it’s attractive to a lot of manufacturers to showcase their technologies, so it’s exciting to be a part of the series.’’

‘‘I have always liked street tracks. They are normally very bumpy and there are different grip levels throughout the lap so they are a lot of fun!’’
