Just three days after the announcement that it had parted ways with 26-year-old French racing driver Nathanael Berthon, Formula E’s Team Aguri has announced the re-signing of Salvador Duran.

Duran, a 30-year-old Mexican racing driver, raced for the Amlin Aguri team during the 2014-2015 season, with a best finish of sixth in Moscow, but found himself without a ride heading into the second season of Formula E.

Now, Duran will make his return to the sport at the Buenos Aires ePrix on Feb. 6.

“I am very excited to have re-signed for Team Aguri,” Duran told FIAFormulaE.com. “This is a very ambitious team with some of the best engineering and technical knowledge in Formula E, and I look forward to being part of an already successful season. I’m particularly looking forward to my home race in Mexico in March. The atmosphere will be amazing and I can’t wait to put on a good show for all my compatriots.”

“Salvador is a perfect fit for the team and it’s great to have him joining us,” added Marc Faggionato, owner of Team Aguri. “His experience in the series is crucial, given the unique handling of these cars, and will play a major role in driving the team’s development forward for the remainder of the season and into next year.”
