Formula One's drivers will race in Bahrain next year after the grand prix was controversially restored to the sport's 2012 calendar.
The meeting in the Gulf kingdom will return in a new April slot as part of next year's revised 20-race schedule, which also features the inaugural US Grand Prix in Austin, Texas, F1 confirmed late Wednesday.
There was no place, however, for the Turkish Grand Prix.
Unrest in Bahrain in February forced March's grand prix to be shelved from the 2011 schedule. Although there were plans to reschedule the race later in the season, the race ultimately was canceled amid heavy team pressure.
Calm has been restored to the streets over recent months, though there still was concern that activists will be alerted to F1's ambition to return.
The removal of the Turkish Grand Prix, meanwhile, brought to an end a public-relations disaster for F1. While drivers were happy with the Istanbul Park circuit, attendance at the races were negligible, while the city and nation never took to the motor sport.
