Andretti Autosport adds Bell for fifth Indy 500 car

AVONDALE, Ariz. (AP) Andretti Autosport is adding Townsend Bell to drive its fifth car at the Indianapolis 500.

Bell will join Ryan Hunter-Reay, Marco Andretti, Carlos Munoz and Alexander Rossi in the 100th running of the Indy 500 on May 29.

Bell has raced in numerous series, including CART, IndyCar, American LeMans and the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. He currently works as a color commentator for NBC Sports in the IndyCar and Global Rallycross series.

Bell will be making his 10th start at the Indy 500. His best finish was fourth at the 2009 race with KV Racing Technology.

Bell finished 14th for Dreyer & Reinbold Kingdom Racing last year.
