Tim Bell was driving the No. 28 Nissan 370Z during the 2014 Continental Tire SporsCar Challenge race at the Circuit of The Americas on Friday, Sept. 19 when his brakes failed at the fastest part of the circuit.
Bell was travelling at 154 mph as he approached the Turn 12 hairpin and discovered that he had no brakes. The gravel did very little to slow Bell's Nissan down, so he induced his car into a spin, causing the car to hit the wall on the passenger side.
Bell hit the wall at 136 mph in an impact so violent that it turned the car onto its side. Fortunately, Bell was able to walk away from the crash.
