A detoured flight in Honduras, a five-hour bus trip and lost luggage. A different kind of extra time for Toronto FC.

Toronto's charter flight had been scheduled to land Monday in Tegucigalpa, site of Tuesday night's preliminary round, second-leg match against Motagua in the CONCACAF Champions League.

Instead the pilot flew to San Pedro Sula after deeming that airport safer for landing. Players then took a bus for the 5-hour drive to the Honduran capital.

Team officials said Toronto also will depart from San Pedro Sula.

The team luggage temporarily was lost on the first stop of the trip in Kansas City, then showed up a couple of hours before Toronto lost to the Wizards 1-0 Saturday.

Toronto beat Motagua 1-0 in the first leg last week in Toronto.
