Toronto FC acquires Robinson from Chicago

Toronto FC has bolstered its back line, acquiring defender Dasan Robinson from the Chicago Fire in exchange for Dan Gargan.

Toronto FC announced Thursday that the Fire will get Toronto's second-round pick in the deal.

Toronto's defense has allowed a league-worst 41 goals.

The 27-year-old Robinson was selected in the second round of in the 2006 MLS supplemental draft. He played in 82 games for the Fire, scoring three goals. He appeared in five games this season, starting in two.

Gargan made 37 starts and 43 appearances during his two seasons in Toronto, scoring one goal. The 28-year-old defender signed with Toronto in 2010. Gargan was drafted by the Colorado Rapids in 2005.
