Defender Jeremy Hall has been acquired by Toronto from Dallas in exchange for a second-round pick in the Major League Soccer draft.

The 23-year-old spent two years with the New York Red Bulls before he was dealt to Portland last November. He split the season between the Timbers and Dallas, making 21 league appearances.

The 28-year-old Brazilian-born player, who spent three year's in Arsenal's youth program, has 11 goals in 99 appearances over five seasons with Chivas USA.

As part of Tuesday's deal, Chivas USA gets back the first-round pick it sent to Kansas City last week as part of the trade that sent midfielder Ryan Smith to Chivas USA. Kansas City keeps the third-round selection it received in last week's deal.

Montreal Impact

Also, midfielder Davy Arnaud has been traded from Sporting Kansas City to the expansion Montreal Impact in a deal that returns defender Seth Sinovic plus allocation money.

The 31-year-old Arnaud had spent 10 seasons with Kansas City, setting a team record with 240 regular-season games and scoring 43 goals. He was limited to two assists in 16 games this year, his season hampered by sports hernia surgery in July.

Sinovic, from Leawood, Kan., played 20 games for Kansas City this year and was taken by the Impact in last week's expansion draft.

The trade was announced Monday. Allocation money can be used to sign players or allocate against their contracts to get under the salary cap.

And finally, the Los Angeles Galaxy traded former starting goalkeeper Donovan Ricketts to the expansion Montreal Impact for allocation money.

Ricketts, a goalkeeper on Jamaica's national team, was an All-Star in 2009 and 2010, and was voted MLS goalkeeper of the year in 2010. The 34-year-old, bothered by injuries and called away to national team duty this season, lost the starting job to Josh Saunders.

Allocation money can be used to sign players or allocate against their contracts to get under the salary cap. The trade was announced Monday.
