Seattle sends King to DC for draft pick

Midfielder Stephen King has been traded by the Seattle Sounders FC to D.C. United for a 2011 second-round pick in the MLS SuperDraft.

The trade was announced on Friday.

King is in his third MLS season. He played in 10 games during Seattle's expansion season of 2009. He also started five U.S. Open Cup matches for Seattle, scoring three goals, including a pair of game winners.

He has not played yet in 2010.

The 24-year-old King played in 20 games as a rookie for Chicago in 2008. He was taken by Seattle in the 2008 expansion draft.
