Seattle acquires young F Sammy Ochoa
The Seattle Sounders FC have acquired American forward Sammy Ochoa through the Major League Soccer allocation process.
The Sounders announced the acquisition on Friday. Ochoa was acquired after Seattle traded a 2012 third-round MLS SuperDraft pick to Chicago in order to move up in the allocation process.
The 24-year-old Ochoa signed with MLS earlier this week after spending the past five seasons playing for Mexico's Estudiantes Tecos. He trained with the Sounders in June and played in a reserve league game.
Ochoa also played for Seattle coach Sigi Schmid in 2005 at the FIFA under-20 World Cup.
Seattle also announced that goalkeeper Terry Boss has been called in by Puerto Rico for a pair of World Cup qualifying matches next week against St. Kitts and Canada.
