Ilija Stolica scored in injury time and the New England Revolution, playing the entire second half with extra attackers, salvaged a 1-1 draw with the Vancouver Whitecaps on Wednesday night.

Already down a player, Eric Hassli scored on a penalty kick in the 56th minute. But he was sent off with his second yellow card for throwing his jersey into the crowd during the ensuing celebration.

New England couldn't convert the first 18 minutes with two extra players before losing defender A.J. Soares to a red card for a hard tackle in the 74th minute.

Vancouver keeper Jay Nolly made a diving save on a free kick in the 82nd minute, and got a break when Stolica's header three minutes later was called offside.

Stolica got behind the defense to put another one behind Nolly three minutes into time added on and this one counted.
