Rapids oust Crew in penalty shootout

The Colorado Rapids reached the Eastern Conference final after a 5-4 penalty shootout against the Columbus Crew.
The aggregate series was tied at 2-2 after 120 minutes on Saturday.
The Rapids won the first leg 1-0 last week at Dick's Sporting Goods Park in Denver, but Columbus forced the extra time session after a 2-1 win in regulation time.
The Crew was on its way to advance with a 2-0 lead until the 84th minute when Conor Casey scored off an Omar Cummings assist.

Eddie Gaven and Robbie Rogers scored the Columbus goals on either side of halftime.
Colorado now faces San Jose in the Eastern Conference final.
With the loss, the two true Eastern Conference playoff teams have been eliminated after New York lost to San Jose on Thursday night.
