Dwayne De Rosario scored in the 61st minute to lift D.C. United to a 1-0 win over the New York Red Bulls on Saturday night.
De Rosario, playing against the Red Bulls for the first time since they traded him to United for Dax McCarty on June 27, slid past Roy Miller before slamming a left-footed shot from the edge of the box past goalkeeper Greg Sutton. It was De Rosario's fourth goal of the season and his first in two games since the trade.
The victory was United's first in eight matches.
Galaxy 2, Fire 1
At Carson, California, David Beckham scored direct from a corner and set up Landon Donovan's goal in the Galaxy's 2-1 win over Chicago.
Beckham's 58th minute cross found Donovan at the back post who made no mistake heading home past Chicago 'keeper Sean Johnson to make it 1-0.
Chicago stormed back into the contest only four minutes later when Cristian Nazarit headed in the equalizer from Patrick Nyarko's cross.
The Galaxy regained the lead in the 66th minute when Beckham's corner kick from the left skipped untouched through a pool of players and into the net to help the Galaxy extend their league-best unbeaten streak to 12 matches.
Sporting Kansas City 1, Chivas USA 1
At Kansas City, Kansas, Omar Bravo's late headed goal snatched a point for the home team against lowly Chivas USA.
Nick LaBrocca gave Chivas the lead in the 30th minute when he latched on to a through ball from Justin Braun and slotted a low shot past Sporting goalkeeper Jimmy Nielsen. It was LaBrocca's third goal in three games.
Bravo's equalizer, off a deflection by teammate Kei Kamara, capped a furious second half of attacking pressure for Kansas City, still unbeaten at their new stadium.
Dynamo 2, Toronto FC 0
At Houston, Danny Cruz and Geoff Cameron scored to give Houston a home victory against Toronto FC.
Houston's win comes nearly a month since their last league victory over Chivas USA on June 11. Toronto FC slipped to its second straight defeat and fourth in its last five games.
Cruz gave Houston a 1-0 lead in the 50th minute. After exchanging neat passes from Brian Ching in midfield, Cruz dribbled into the box before firing home off the leg of goalkeeper Stefan Frei and inside the far post.
Cameron doubled the advantage nine minutes from time, blasting home from close range.
Real Salt Lake 2, FC Dallas 0
At Sandy, Utah, Andy Williams' 47th minute free kick and Fabian Espindola's stoppage time goal gave Real Salt Lake a 2-0 home win.
Salt Lake is now unbeaten in six matches which will give them confidence ahead of Tuesday night's U.S. Open Cup quarterfinal in Dallas.
Williams scored just his second goal of the season when he chipped his freekick over a defensive wall, which had just enough power to get past Dallas goalkeeper Kevin Hartman.
Espindola sealed the win when he sent a shot past Hartman late on.

At Commerce City, Colorado, Conor Casey and Scott Palguta's goals were enough for Colorado to end its four-game winless streak.
Casey got his sixth goal in his last seven games in the 25th minute before Palguta doubled the advantage in the 68th.
Camilo Sanvezzo scored his sixth goal of the season for Vancouver, who has lost its past four matches and remain without an away win in their inaugural season.
Vancouver was without suspended midfielder Shea Salinas.

At Santa Clara, California, Philadelphia moved to equal first with New York in the Eastern Conference after a 0-0 draw away to San Jose.
Philadelphia nearly claimed all three points in the 85th minute when midfielder Kyle Nakazawa's free kick made it through the defense but hit the right post.
Earlier in the second half, the Earthquakes also hit the woodwork when midfielder Ryan Johnson's shot from left hit the crossbar.
San Jose coach Frank Yallop was sent from the coaching area in the 66th minute after protesting a yellow card that was issued to defender Ramiro Corrales.
