Kevin Hartman got his 100th career shutout and Martin Chavez scored in the 69th minute to give FC Dallas a 1-0 win over the New England Revolution on Saturday night.

The 37-year-old Hartman, in his 15th MLS season, needed to make just two saves for his league-leading seventh shutout of the season. Real Salt Lake's Nick Rimando is second in MLS with 79.

The win extended Dallas' unbeaten streak to nine (6-0-3), six of which have been shutouts, and solidified its second-place position in the Western Conference standings.

The Revolution lost their third straight game and are winless in six road games, with two ties.

After Dallas failed to convert numerous chances in the first hour-plus, Chavez finally broke through with an outstanding individual effort.

After receiving a lead ball from Fabian Castillo, Chavez charged down the right side and managed to slip around Revolution defender A.J. Soares about a yard from the end line.

Approaching the right post at a sharp angle, Chavez slotted a hard, low shot between goalkeeper Matt Reis and the goalpost for his first goal of the season.

Chavez had a chance to make it 2-0 in the 88th minute, but Reis made a spectacular diving stop on his 20-yard blast.
