Juninho scored twice and captain Landon Donovan had four assists as the Los Angeles Galaxy beat in-stadium rival Chivas USA 4-0 on Sunday night.

The Galaxy earned the victory without David Beckham, who was in London for the Olympics closing ceremony. The team said on its official Twitter page that Beckham was there ''with the full support of (coach) Bruce Arena and the entire LA Galaxy organization.''

Without Beckham, the Galaxy solidified their place in the Western Conference standings, surging to 36 points - 10 ahead of Chivas.

''We moved well, passed the ball well, some good running off the ball,'' Galaxy coach Bruce Arena said. ''We just had a really good effort.''

Robbie Keane gave Los Angeles a 1-0 lead with his 10th goal of the season, and Omar Gonzalez added a late tally to make it 4-0 one week after the Galaxy lost 4-0 at Seattle. Donovan's four assists are a career high.

Keane opened the scoring in the 27th minute when Donovan found him in front. Keane quickly let go a shot and beat Dan Kennedy from 8 yards out.

''Landon really was focused on playing well,'' Arena said. ''When he wants he's as good as any player in this league.''

Juninho doubled the lead in the 64th minute when he knocked in a shot from 20 yards. He scored his third of the season and second of the night 10 minutes later, finding the net from close range. Gonzalez headed a ball into the back of the net off a corner kick in the 83rd minute to build the lead to 4-0.

''That's embarrassing,'' Chivas coach Robin Fraser said. ''For the magnitude of this game to have the result fall the way it did is certainly not good enough.''

Shalrie Joseph made his Chivas debut. The former Revolution standout and eight-time All-Star joined Chivas in a trade on Aug. 1 and went the distance with his new club.
