Philadelphia Union defender Gabriel Farfan's suspension has been extended to three games by Major League Soccer.
Farfan received an automatic one-game suspension for his red card last Saturday against Chivas USA, when his late challenge against James Riley in the 85th minute led to a scuffle.
MLS' disciplinary committee added the two games Friday and said ''the challenge was reckless and endangered Riley's safety.'' Farfan was fined for ''the egregious nature of the challenge itself as well as for failing to leave the field in an orderly manner.''
He will miss games against San Jose on Saturday, at Seattle on May 5 and against New York on May 13.
