Adam Moffat and Brian Ching scored first-half goals to lead the Houston Dynamo to a 2-1 win over the Portland Timbers on Sunday night.

Moffat scored his first goal of the season in the 17th minute, and Ching added his fourth 10 minutes later as the Dynamo (7-7-10) extended their unbeaten streak to three games (2-0-1).

Jack Jewsbury scored his team-leading seventh goal of the season in the 56th for the Timbers (7-11-5), whose three-game unbeaten streak (1-0-2) ended.

The Timbers stopped Bobby Boswell's point-blank shot from inside the box in the 17th, but the ball bounced all the way out to Moffat, who settled it and fired high into the far right corner from 35 yards out for his first goal since July 3, 2010, when he played for Columbus.
