Forward Jeff Cunningham has signed a multiyear contract with the Columbus Crew, returning to the team for which he played his first seven seasons in Major League Soccer.
The 34-year-old has 132 MLS goals, second in league history and one behind Jaime Moreno's total. His 62 league goals for Columbus from 1998-04 are tied for first with Brian McBride.
Cunningham's 2011 option was declined last month by Dallas. Cunningham led MLS with 17 goals in 2009.
A native of Jamaica, Cunningham is a naturalized American citizen who has one goal in 12 appearances for the U.S. national team. He scored in an exhibition against Denmark in November 2009.
