Emilio Renteria scored on a header in the 49th minute to help the Columbus Crew tie Toronto FC 1-1 on Saturday in Major League Soccer.

Tony Tchani scored for Toronto in the 41st minute, but was given a second yellow card after the goal, apparently for jumping over the advertising boards to celebrate with the fans.

''It was not clever,'' Toronto coach Aron Winter said.

The goal ended Columbus' team-record shutout streak at 414 minutes and Toronto's scoring drought at 284 minutes. Columbus is 2-1-3, and Toronto is 1-2-4.

''The red card was huge,'' Columbus captain Chad Marshall said. ''Obviously, it was nice playing a man up the second half. The way we came out in the second half and tied the game up pretty quickly, I think we're all disappointed that we didn't carry that on and get another one and get the three points.

''But it's a tough place to play so we'll take the point.''

Columbus has never lost to Toronto, going 5-0-7. Their last five games at BMO Field have ended in ties.
