INDIANAPOLIS (AP) Reigning Olympic all-around champion Gabrielle Douglas and three-time Olympic medalist Aly Raisman are taking their preparation for a run at the 2016 Summer Games to Italy.

The two veterans headline the U.S. women's gymnastics team at the Jesolo Cup in Jesolo, Italy this weekend. This is the second straight year Douglas and Raisman have competed in the event. Raisman finished third in the all-around in 2015 and Douglas came in fourth in their first competition since the 2012 Olympics.

MyKayla Skinner, a member of the U.S.'s gold-medal winning 2015 world championship team, will also compete. Laurie Hernandez, Ashton Locklear and Emily Schild are also a part of the 13-member junior and senior teams heading to the event.

U.S. national team coordinator Martha Karolyi said recently three-time world champion Simone Biles would join the Americans in Italy. Biles instead will likely make her 2016 debut at the Pacific Rim championships next month.
