Watch Jason Day drain a laughable 71-foot putt
World No. 1 Jason Day had a horrible week off the tee at Bethpage Black, but he somehow managed to scramble his way to a fourth place finish in the first round of the FedEx Cup playoffs with terrific shots like this 71-foot birdie putt Sunday.
Day finished the tournament last in driving accuracy but first in strokes gained putting, and jumped to within a stroke of Patrick Reed's winning score of 9-under with an adventurous 71-foot putt over a ridge that nearly came to a dead stop some 20 feet from the hole. The ball fortunately released down the slope and trickled into the cup for a miraculous birdie, but Day would give back a shot on the following hole.
