Trio hold lead at rain-interrupted Avantha Masters
Barry Lane of England shot a 5-under 67 Friday to share the clubhouse lead at the Avantha Masters with the second round still to be completed because of a hailstorm.
Lane was joined at 10-under by John Parry of England and Chan Yin-shin of Taiwan, both of whom still have a hole to play in their second rounds.
Lane began the day tied for third and three shots behind first-round leader Marcel Siem, but holed three birdies on both the front and back nine offset by only one bogey to overtake the German.
Darren Beck (65), Andrew Dodt (68), Lam Chih-Bing (68) and David Drysdale (67) are next at 9 under.
Siem had slipped back to 7 under when bad weather intervened, with three holes of his round still to play.
Darren Clarke of Northern Ireland climbed into contention at 7 under with a 66 featuring nine birdies, seven in his last seven holes.
